An Eccentric Vermont Elopement in the Fall
Having both been married before, A.J. and David decided an intimate elopement felt like something they wanted and looking back now, they know it was absolutely the right decision!
A.J. had recently learned about adventure weddings and fell in love with the idea. With a zeal for adventure, these two love the idea of going to as many national parks as possible. After visiting Yosemite National Park, they got engaged and that's how their elopement plan started.
Vermont came about after talking with their photographer, Kat. David & A.J. love color and both wanted a woodsy vibe. Their vision started with something like the Grand Canyon or the Smokey Mountains, but after A.J. described herself as a wood sprite and some research, Kat suggested Vermont or upstateNew York! Just like the West Coast, the East Coast has some incredible potential for wanders and those who seek adventure. They ended up traveling from Texas to Vermont for their elopement and it was spectacular!
Not only did they say their vows at Warren Falls, but they explored Texas Falls Recreation Area, drove to the top of Mt. Mansfield and hiked a little way further to the actual summit in the wind, and they caught the sunset over Lake Champlain in Shelburne. They stayed out after sunset because they wanted to see the stars over Lake Champlain and watch the moonrise. They really made the most of their day and absolutely lived it to the fullest. Another unique aspect, as you can see, is how they incorporated color into their day. A.J. LOVES color. In fact, their first date was a trip to the graffiti park in Austin, TX. David made custom stencils so they could paint something special together! So it was entirely appropriate that they get married in Vermont at the most colorful time of year!
