A Jewel Toned Fall Elopement in the Shenandoah Mountains
William and Liz are the epitome of gentleness as a couple. From the moment I saw the two of them together, it was clear to me that they're the type of couple that truly appreciates each other - and I'm talking the sincerest, sweetest, most respectful appreciation. The type of couple who has gone through long distances. The type of couple who willingly sacrifices for one another. The couple who understands it's not just about what they portray to the world outside of them. They have this love that simply leaves you sitting in adoration and joy...the type of love you know is endless and unconditional. Asking them to cuddle up was simply not even a task that needed to be handled, because without a second of direction, William and Liz melted into each other. The sweetest of shoulder kisses, the softest of held hands.
Their day was full of adventure from the beginning, for sure. From one lost vendor to another that needed convincing to stay longer, the morning started out needing a little adjusting, but really, what wedding day doesn't come with these little twists? Their ceremony location needed to be changed to accommodate time, so we chose the grandest of evergreen trees tucked away off a trail that became the perfect place for them to exchange vows.
The rest of the afternoon was spent exploring Dark Hollow Falls and taking in the breathtaking views a multitude of spots along Shenandoah National Park. Sunset was spent watching the sun go down behind the mountains from a trail off of Big Meadows, and it wouldn't have been complete had an older gentleman not stopped to play "Here Comes The Bride" on his harmonica as we ascended the rocks to where we'd end the day.
It truly was an October day to remember.
